On Sunday 29 October 2017, Summer Island Maldives won the prestigious award for ‘Leading Beach Resort / Hotel’ in South Asia, at the annual South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) currently being held at Equator Village, Addu atoll. Since launching in 2016, SATA has quickly established a reputation as South Asia’s most prestigious travel awards. The awards have been endorsed by various tourism organizations including the Maldives Associations for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO).

The 4* resort, located in north Male’ atoll, fought off 21 other resorts and hotels rivals located in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India to win the award, which was presented Mariya Shareef at a gala event on Saturday evening.
Summer Island Maldives is one of the country’s first resorts, and remains wholly Maldivian owned. It was recently refurbished, and now boasts fresh and zesty rooms, award-winning restaurants, a rustic beach bar, a dive school and a spa offering a range of wellness treatments and massages.
