Four Seasons Resort Maldives Kuda Huraa offers various dinning options for the guests including multi cultural restaurants and In-Bangalow service.
Café Huraa serves Western & Asian cuisine under two al fresco pavilions adjacent to the swimming pool. For breakfast, guests can look forward to an extensive buffet of Asian and Continental specialities, exotic fruits, freshly baked breads and pastries. Dinner embraces Asian fare with an emphasis on regional specialities. The popular theme nights offer tantalising specialities. The restaurant has a wine cellar that boast an exclusive selection of the finest handpicked wines.
The stunning Baraabaru restaurant which serves Indian cuisine is fashioned with an outdoor, providing an exquisite dining experience perched over water. There is also an exclusive private dining pavilion for special occasions. The restaurant’s interior is an opulent combination of bright colours and spectacular lightings. Adding to the ambience is a Tandoor Bar where one can view the chefs in action. Open for dinner only, Baraabaru serves Indian specialties including different styles of kebabs, various kinds of bread, korma and makni curries and authentic biryani.
Reef Club serves classic Italian cuisine. The restaurant is located away from the buzz of the main restaurant area, at the southern end of the island, with excellent sunset views. Dining is available outdoors on a wooden deck or under a thatched roof pavilion. A couple of tables are situated directly in the sand beside our adults-only serenity pool. For lunch, the emphasis is on seafood and homemade pastas, salads & pizzas for a light and casual meal in the sun.
Kandu Grill
Located adjacent to the main pool, Kandu Grill is open for dinner, serving barbequed Maldivian Reef Fish, Indian Ocean Lobster local Tuna as well as prime steaks, salads and side dishes from an open kitchen pavilion.
Located next to the lobby, the Sunset Lounge provides the perfect start to the evening, serving an extensive selection of cocktails against the backdrop of a stunning Maldivian sunset. This open-sided pavilion overlooks the jetty and offers great views of the Island Spa. Music enhances the relaxed, informal atmosphere while a billiard table and parlour games provide entertainment.
The ‘swim-up’ poolside bar serves a wide range of cocktails and juices with snacks available throughout the day. Our Beach & Pool setting offers an exceptional lounging experience with excellent service and attention to detail. Several gazebos around the pool provide shade by day and romantic dining venues by night.
Island Spa
Located on its own private island just a minute away from the Resort by dhoni (native Maldivian wooden boat), the Island Spa is a tranquil oasis dedicated to physical and mental peace, harmony and balance. It uses products sourced from one of the industry’s most environmentally-supportive suppliers – Sodashi, cultivated and harvested ethically and in complete harmony with nature. An innovative treatment menu focuses on wellness. Each pavilion is designed for couples’ spa experiences with separate bathing and treatment rooms and private garden courtyard with open-air shower. A rectangular sea-viewing window is located below each of the two massage tables.
The Resort offers a wide variety of short, half-day and full-day guided excursions, as well as engaging activities such as cooking classes and marine talks.
Maldives is known internationally as one of the world’s best dive destinations. A large number of excellent dive sites are located within minutes of the Resort. The Resort operates its own 5-star PADI Green Star & IDC Dive Centre with air and nitrox diving. A multi-lingual team offers courses for all abilities (including ‘Bubble maker’ courses for children) and daily dive trips. The Resort is within five to 30 minutes of 30 excellent dive sites, accessed via a traditional (customised) dhoni. Highlights include the renowned manta ray cleaning station at Sunlight Point (sightings from May to November) and the exciting 110-metre long cargo freighter wreck, just 45 minutes away.
Surfing
The Maldives is fast becoming renowned as one of the world’s most perfect surfing destinations: with year-round water temperatures of 27 – 30º, manicured, world-class waves, pristine turquoise waters and panoramic ocean views at every turn. Guests can adopt an entire ocean lifestyle at the Resort’s Surf School, with courses from six years old and above. Run by the pros from Tropicsurf, Noosa, Australia, the school caters for all abilities: learn to master the board in the pristine lagoon, embark on a series of surf clinics or let loose on six quality breaks within a stone’s throw – with many more secret, uncrowded spots just a whisper away… Enjoy easy take-offs and long rides in some of the world’s most consistent – and warmest – swells, with expert instructors on hand to help maximise every wave.
Water Sport Centre
The Water Sport Centre offers a wide range of group and individual activities. Non-motorized activities are complimentary and include kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing, and catamaran sailing. Lessons in windsurfing and sailing can be given by VDWS certified instructors on request. Additional motorized activities such as water-skiing, parasailing, banana-boating, jet skiing, sea bobbing and fun tube are available at a charge.
Marine Discovery Centre
Kuda Huraa’s Marine Discovery Centre (MDC) is an interactive research and education centre that introduces guests and local school children alike to the role we can each play in conserving the local and global marine ecosystem. The Centre features audio-visual presentations on specific areas of conservation close to the Kuda Huraa team’s heart, including turtles, coral reefs, sharks and dolphins.
The MDC is the starting point for the Resort’s Turtle and Shark Safari, Dolphin Watching and Coral Reefscaping activities. It is also the headquarters of the Maldivian Sea Turtle Conservation Programme. The centre also has a dedicated children’s section featuring an exciting submarine concept.
The Gym
The gym is located on the main floor under the Business Center. It is equipped with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing and step machines, each with a personal TV and headphones. There are also separate changing rooms for men and women with shower facilities and toiletries.
The Resort’s fresh water infinity pool has been designed in harmony with its tropical setting. A shallow wading pool stretches into a free-form pool that extends right to the edge of the lagoon. There is also a separate children’s pool.
The Reef Club Restaurant features the resort’s adult-only serenity pool, opened daily from 10am to 10pm, where guests can enjoy island cocktail and lunch options till 4 pm.
Recreation Centre
The Recreation Centre offers a wide selection of engaging family activities and excursions including marine lectures, windsurfing, waterskiing (skis for 6 years and above), dolphin cruises, sunset fishing, guided reef snorkelling, shark snorkel safaris, island excursions, sandbank picnics, private boat tips. kayaking, tennis, table tennis.
Kuda Mas Kids Club
As part of the Kids for All Seasons programme, the Kuda Mas Kids Club gives young guests from 4 to 12 years of age the opportunity to learn more about the Maldivian island way of life through a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, creative crafts and games. Children can take part in their own dedicated yoga sessions, or join in a range of creative activities from cooking classes to making and flying kites. Open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
Lava Lounge
Above the Gym, the bright and spacious air-conditioned library features a great selection of books in many languages available on loan, as well as a selection of international magazines and newspapers. Lava Lounge is equipped with board games and iMac computer terminals with complimentary Internet access.
Reel in a big tuna, sailfish or mahi mahi from the 16.7-metre (55-foot) High Flyer, a sport fishing boat specially designed for big game fishing on the high seas. Unmatched by any other boat in the area, the luxuriously furnished High Flyer features an 81-centimetre (32-inch) flat-screen television, surround-sound MP3 music system and other advanced amenities. Set lunches are served on board. Guests may choose a full-day (8-hour), or half-day (four-hour) charter package.
Island-hopping
The Maldives’ 1,190 islands feature countless sandbanks and reef tops where you can enjoy unlimited land or sea activities – snorkel at isolated reefs, visit traditional Maldivian villages or relax in private on a deserted sandbank. Our 16.7-metre (55-foot) luxury sports cruiser, Landaa Summer, allows you to island-hop in comfort. Its easy sea access makes for effortless snorkelling or swimming from the back of the boat, while the air-conditioned salon with flat-screen television provides comfortable relaxation in the heat of the day. Set lunches are served on board.
Seaplane photo flight
From 457 metres (1,500 feet) in the air, you will have a whole new perspective on the Maldives. Savour the views of miles and miles of islands, lagoons and calm azure waters during this 20-minute flight, and take advantage of limitless photo opportunities. Seaplanes may be chartered privately.
Island picnics
A private cruiser takes you across the atoll for a picnic on a small island or a sliver of sand, lost in an azure sea – the perfect setting for a romantic celebration or a family day out. Snorkel amongst brilliantly coloured corals, go fishing or simply relax in the shade of your tent.
Jogging
A leisurely jog around the island at dawn or dusk is one of the best ways to view Kuda Huraa’s amazing vistas, where the sea meets the sky. Jogging maps are available.

Four Seasons is just 25-30 minutes away from the city via speedboat. It is indeed a tropical garden as it is very colorful due to lots of plants and colorful flowers surrounding the island. The resort is like a Maldivian village. There is even a small Maldivian house in the middle of the resort to show the history of how ancestors lived in the past.
The people working there treat the island as home. Most of the employees have been there for years. So a lot of repeaters are used to the great service they provide and that is one of their selling points. They also have this social responsibility of reducing the use of plastics since year 2010. They avoid using plastic as much as possible and use recyclable materials for almost everything. You will first notice it on the way to the island when water is in a glass bottle, on the restaurant when they use paper straws and the only plastic in the bathroom area is the sponge.
They have a marine conservatory as well where they rescue turtles that have disabilities such as missing flippers or the weak ones who won’t make it. They main idea is to release them back to the ocean once they regained their strength or they are big enough to make it on their own.
The rooms are very Maldivian in style and the interior is very cozy. The bed is kind of romantic as the bed posts are laced with white curtains. The outdoor bathroom would give a very beautiful view of the night sky at night.
The resort is not only for couple but for families as well. They also have kids club to entertain children and provide assistance to parents especially if they also want to enjoy sometime alone.
Four Seasons is the first resort to have a spa in Maldives. It is also the first one to have a spa in a separate island. You will ride a small boat to the other island where the spa is located. They said you will feel “zonked out” which means out of mind experience.
Food is exquisite. The serving time is a bit long but it is definitely worth the wait. The great thing about the menu is you will see what is included in your food, for example (A) if it includes alcohol or (N) if it has nuts. This is great for people who have dietary requirements or may have allergies to certain ingredients.

FOUR SEASON RESORT MALDIVES AT KUDA HURAA – первый отель международной сети класса люкс, построенный на Мальдивах . Расположен в атолле Северный Мале, в 20 км от международного аэропорта Велана, 30 минут на скоростном катере. Функционирует с 1997 года, последняя реконструкция была проведена в 2014 году.
Отель построен в стиле традиционной мальдивской деревни с использованием запрещенного сейчас кораллового камня, что придает острову аутентичный облик. Однако интереьер в номерах очень изысканный и современный.
Гостям ежедневно предлагается множество активных и познавательных развлечений на территории отеля и за его пределами. Спа-центр The Island расположен на отдельном острове куда можно доплыть на традиционной лодке «дони». Также, гостям отеля предоставляется возможность совершить круиз на роскошной яхте Four Seasons Explorer (39 м, 10 кают и один suite). На территории отеля есть научный центр по исследованию и защите подводного мира, в особенности черепах, в программах которого гости также могут принять участие.
Кухня, представленная в отеле, разнообразная и очень высокого качества. На острове расположены 4 ресторана и 2 бара. Кроме того, гости могут воспользоваться принадлежностями для барбекю на песчаном пляже соседнего маленького острова.
Из недостатков можно назвать слишком близкое расположение других островов и резортов ниже по уровню и ценовой категории.
Однако, отель успел наработать достойное количесво постоянных клиентов, которые возвращаются отмечать годовщину свадьбы после свадебной церемонии на острове.
FOUR SEASON RESORT MALDIVES AT KUDA HURAA is the first luxury hotel of an international chain built in the Maldives. Located in the North Male atoll, 20 km from the international airport Velana, 30 minutes by speedboat. The resort was founded in 1997, the last reconstruction was in 2014.
The hotel is built in the traditional Maldivian village style, the walls of bungalows are made of coral stone, which is forbidden to use for constructions now and which gives the island an authentic look. However, the interior of the rooms is still very contemporary and refined .
A wide range of active and educational activities are offered on a daily basis on the island and beyond. The “Island Spa” is located on a separate island which guests can reach by the traditional boat “Doni”. Also, guests of the hotel have the opportunity to take a cruise by the luxury yacht “Four Seasons Explorer” (39 m, 10 cabins and one suite). On the territory of the hotel there is a scientific center for research and protection of the underwater world, especially turtles, so guests can also take part in its programs.
The cuisine presented in the hotel is varied and of high quality. There are 4 restaurants and 2 bars on the island. In addition, guests can use the barbecue facilities on the sandy beach.
Among the disadvantages of the hotel it is worth noting that other islands and resorts with lower level and price category are located nearby.
However, the hotel managed to reach a decent number of regular customers who are returning to celebrate the wedding anniversary after the wedding ceremony on the island.
