Kuramathi Island has a 4 star rating however I believe that it could easily pass as a five star resort. It is indeed a value for money for people who is looking for a not so expensive place but wants to get away from the city and unwind. Rooms are superb. Big and spacious rooms that has a very beautiful view of the ocean. The island is huge and there is plenty of things to do in the resort to make sure guests won’t get bored even if they stay for more than a week or two. There is different restaurants to choose from and the theme is rotating to make sure that guests won’t repeat the same food within a week. There is a kids place that is very suitable for couple who also wants to spend time alone with each other. Baby sitting is also available

Одно из лучших мест в мире для дайвинга, включая всемирно известный Hammerhead Shark Point, расположенный в 30 минутах езды на катере, на территории работает центр дайвинга и водных видов спорта.
К услугам гостей 360 отдельно стоящих вилл, в том числе двухкомнатные и двухэтажные виллы, прекрасно подходящие для больших семей и компаний друзей, с санузлом, телевизором и прочими удобствами в каждой комнате. Kuramathi is located about 56 kilometers from Velana airport, looks like a beveled triangle, one edge of which turns into a sand bar.
It was founded in 1975 but was reconstructed and opened under a new concept in November 2009. The last renovation was in 2016. The island is quite large, 1800 m long.
Transfer by seaplane takes 25 minutes, 90 minutes by speedboat, with their own lounge in the terminal for seaplanes at the airport.
The hotel offers a wide choice for both active and relaxing holidays. Wedding ceremonies and romantic dinners are also possible here. One of the best places in the world for diving, including the world famous Hammerhead Shark Point, located 30 minutes by boat, there is a diving and water sports center on site.
There are 360 detached villas, including one-bedroom and two-storey villas, perfectly suited for large families and friends’ companies, with a bathroom, TV and other amenities in each room. The hotel provides with 15 restaurants, cafes and bars, a children’s club and a spa. The cuisine is very diverse, the themes of dinners are different every day.
There are also 3 outdoor swimming pools on the island, one of them is Infinity.
The island is very beautiful, green and well-groomed, the eastern part of the island is surrounded by a lagoon, on the western side there is a housr coral reef, quite good for snorkeling.
The hotel is suitable for all categories of tourists, and highly recommended.

Kuramathi is a 4* resort and one of the first resorts in the. Maldives. It opened in the. Maldives on 1th of October 1975 and is part of Universal Resorts – the pioneers of tourism in the Maldives. Kuramathi is located on Rasdhoo Atoll. You can reach it by speedboat within 90 min, or by seaplane within 20 mins from Velana International Airport.
Kuamathi is 1.8 km long and divided in 3 parts of the island: Main Area. Athiri Area, and Thundi Area. Each area has a reception, main restaurant and main bar. In total there are 3 main restaurants, 9 a la cart restaurants, 5 bars and 2 special bars on the island. Resort offers 11 room categories.
There is a sandbank on the west of the island and it is very beautiful. The perfect spot for the sunset.
There is a beautiful, untouched area inside the island, which is called “nature walks”, you may feel like you are in a real jungle. You may also find a huge Banyan. tree which is one of the oldest in the Maldives, its age is estimated to be around 300 y.o.
It is also important to highlight that rooms condition is different on different areas on the resort. The most newly built categories you may find in Thundi Area, which is close to the sandbank.
One of the main feature of the island is one of the biggest kids club in the Maldives. I would say the best one among 4* resorts.
House reef is reachable from the beach by swimming, but still it is a little bit far, and may be not the best option for the beginners, however I didn’t feel any strong current. Again everything depends on the time of the year and the weather.
Resort offers an interesting sunset cruise, you may see dolphins, but we also saw hummer head sharks, which was very unusual for that area.
Overall I would say this resort is among the best in 4* category, especially for families with kids.

Kuramathi is a big resorts with plenty of activities and natural greenery
A 300-year-old huge banyan tree grows on the island, that is amazing! I really liked the cafes and bars where you can chat with other guests and sit on the bean bags on the beach. In the evening you can watch movies in openair cinema. I would mentioned 1 point I don’t like – Villas on the beach do not have private access to the water

Kuramathi is amazing 4 stars hotel. Huge and green island with a lot of different option accommodation. There are 3 diffrent reception and buffet restaurants for the each area. Besides this there are a la carte restaurants which guests could visit on All inclusive Select. The beach has a very natural view with some trees and greens in the water which will give you feeling of ” true Maldives”. There is a nice sandy bank close to hindi villas. There is a vegetarian corner in the buffet with hot, cold dish and dessert which changes on a day basis. Hotel has a international guests from around the World. Transfers takes about 1,20 hours by boat, but you can always book a seaplane to save time.
