The Water Suites built either side of the far end of the jetties provide accommodation for those who want to spend their holiday in style. The Water Sports Center of Sun Island is located on the East Side of the island. We have three English-speaking instructors to help you in your need and through the lessons. Rental catamaran and windsurfing, water-ski, knee boarding, banana riding, rental canoe’s (single & double) and Jet Ski riding are the activities offered.
Fishing
To let you make acquainted with the Maldivian way of life and customs, we organize a number of excursions to the neighboring islands where the centuries old culture and simple life style still remain unchanged. Since time immemorial, the Maldivians have relied on fish as a basic food item for its inhabitants. Not surprisingly, per capita consumption of fish in the Maldives is one of the highest in the world, and fish is the main source of protein for the inhabitants of the archipelago. Fishing is done from dhonis, wooden boats of excellent craftsmanship. It is manned by a crew of eight to ten men or sometimes fourteen. Dhivehis (Maldivians) go fishing everyday when the weather permits, except Fridays. On Fridays they beach the boats and service them, taking time out for noon prayers. Dhivehis like to eat tuna fish and sometimes reef fish. The traditional fishing practiced by the Maldivians is an art by itself that has evolved over the centuries.
Diving
The Diving School of Sun Island is located on a small island connected by a wide jetty to the resort. The Diving School is about 30m wide and 12 m deep. Two dry rooms, one A/C classroom, one non-A/C classroom, Two equipment rooms, workshop, compressor room with three Bauer K14 Vertical III compressors, two dry rooms, four showers, four toilets, eight changing rooms and lockers are available.
Island Discovery
Make it a pleasure to explore more on the locality of the islanders by joining our full day island hopping tour. This includes a barbecue lunch in an uninhabited picnic island, takes you to a local island and gives you the opportunity to swim and sun bathe. You will then be visiting to another Resort Island before the tour ends.

На одном из крупных Мальдивских островов- Маамигили, располагается один из самых популярных отелей Sun island resort and SPA 5*. Всего 17 минут местными авиалиниями и 7 минут на спид борде и Вы окажетесь на красивом,экзотичном острове солнца, с прекрасным домашним рифом, обитатели которого,совершенно разные,но дружелюбные морские жители.К услугам гостей курортного спа-отеля Sun Island предоставляется большой выбор развлечений для гостей: любые виды экскурсий доступных на Мальдивах, все виды водного спорта, а так же тенисный корд, футбольное поле,волейбольная площадка, гольф. По праву считается одним из самых больших отелей по размерам острова и номерным фондом, всегда соответстующий ожиданиям гостей от Мальдивского рая. Территория острова богата экзотической фауной, ухоженные парки и цветники кругом доставляют незабываемое эстетическое удовольствие. Лагуна очень широкая с обеих сторон острова, удобная для плавания, снорклинга, водных видов спорта. Как было упомянуто выше, отель занимает большую площадь, и для передвижения по острову предоставляются в прокат велосипеды, для которых вымощены специальные дорожки, либо всегда возможно заказать buggy car (по звонку на ресепшн приедет в течение 3-5 минут). It is considered to be one of the largest hotels in terms of the size of the island and the number of rooms, always matching the expectations of guests from the Maldivian paradise. The territory of the island is rich with its exotic fauna, and apart from the bright blue lagoon well-cared parks and flower gardens can be a true source of unforgettable aesthetic pleasure. The lagoon is very wide on both sides of the island, convenient for swimming, snorkeling, water sports. As mentioned above, the hotel occupies a large area, and guests are provided with bicycles for the movement around the island, or it is always possible to order a buggy car which is usually arrives within 3-5 minutes by one call to the reception desk.

Флагман среди отелей бюджетного плана Sun Island Resort & SPA располагается на одном из самых больших резорт-островов на Мальдивах. Трансфер из аэропорта Велана не займет много времени что является плюсом после долгого международного перелета.
Номерной фонд отеля насчитывает 462 комнаты, довольно простого дизайна, из последних обновлений – с ноября прошлого года начали раздавать wi-fi. Первые 2 категории standart/superior beach bungalow расположены в блоках по 2-4 номера, что является отличным вариантом для больших семей. Категория Sun villa в блоках из 4 номеров расположена в удаление от пляжной линии, но за счет этого и огромным плюсом является спокойная и умиротворенная атмосфера среди потрясающей тропической зелени. Некоторые бывшие standart beach bungalow были преобразованы в sunset villa, категория, которая является одной из самых уютных на острове. Также для размещения гостей имеются водные бунгало с отдельным главным рестораном, выделенным для данной категории номеров. Другой главный ресторан ориентирован на гостей проживающих в пляжных категориях. Плюс 3 a la carte ресторана a la carte, один из которых ориентирован на экологически чистую и полезную кухню.
Sun Island является активным, по мальдивским меркам, резортом с широким выбором наземных и водных видов спорта. Для перемещения по большому по площади острову к услугам гостей предоставляются велосипеды в аренду (5$++). Хорошая разнообразная развлекательная программа для взрослых и детей.
Отель для всех категорий отдыхающих. Соотношение цена-качество подтверждается высоким процентом повторных гостей отеля.

Sun Island is a good resort for families and young people, who would like to have activities such sharks, sting reys, mantas wathching.
Every evening there is a program in the hotel such as disco, some shows etc.
Food has a good quality and choice.
Also there is a renovation of the rooms going on, one by one, and they are building a new big kids club which has to be ready by November. This hotel is going to open the same water park like the one in Siyam World.
Be attentive: the entrance to the ocean isn’t smooth everywhere, only opposite rooms numbers 200, close to other rooms better to use coral shoes.
The hotel opened the new room type which is Lagoon Beach. Beach Pool Villas and Beach Swirpool are also renovated. These 2 rooms type could be interconnected.

Big green island. The hotel is perfect for its segment in the market. Most of the rooms have already been renovated. The rooms are bright, comfortable – everything you need is in the room. The beaches are clean with small coral chips. But it is better to use special shoes. Recommend for family vacation. Great restaurants, great food. Sharks and rays are fed at the hotel in the evenings. Friendly and professional staff. Yes – business center, conference hall, spa center, swimming pool, sports center, shops
