JEAN-MARC MA-POON HAS BEEN APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER AT W MALDIVES

20 March 2014 – W Retreat & Spa Maldives is pleased to welcome Jean-Marc Ma-Poon as the new General Manager. With over 13 years of experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Jean-Marc will be responsible for the overall operation of the Retreat, providing strategic and inspirational leadership to his new team and delivering distinguished W experience to hotel guests and clients.
 
His Starwood journey started in 2001 at the Westin Park Central Hotel, Dallas where he gained extensive experience in various operations. Later in his career, Jean-Marc joined the Westin St John Resort & Villas, US Virgin Islands, before holding the title of Food & Beverage Director at the Sheraton Skyline Hotel and Conference Center in London. In 2010, he was appointed as Deputy General Manager for the Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel & Towers, Jordan. Most recently, he served as the Hotel Manager for W Retreat & Spa – Bali in Indonesia.
When not jetting around the globe to visit Starwood properties, Jean-Marc can be found at W Maldives with his family. He is a fitness fanatic, likes swimming and diving.
