The Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa is located on the virgin islands of Dhonakulhu, North Maldives. A tropical sanctuary between between skies and sand, welcoming the first guests in 2005. Hideaway Beach is one the few resrots in Haa- Alifu Atoll, and our marina is the first of its kind in the Maldives.
Our sumptuous resort provides the perfect backdrop for a glamorous retreat. Dhonakulhi is a large crescent shaped island spanning 297,000 sqm. Its white sandy beach stretch more than 1 kilometer one each side, and the turquoise waters of its waist deep lagoon host a rich, colourful sea life. The island is uniquely formed, and its reef structure is split in two distinct parts by a natural harbour for the Marina. Finally Dhonakulhi shelters various tropical trees (banana’s, coconuts, breadfruit..) as well as a range of endemic bushes and mangroves.

Each Hideaway Palace is sprawled over an expansive 1,420 square metres of land, located on a natural sandbank and erected one facing sunrise, and the other facing sunset. The Hideaway Palace comprises of five exclusive individual Villas which sit on top of a beautiful timber deck and are surrounded by a number of private Infinity Swimming Pools, giving an impression that they are floating on water.
3 Units- 1200 Sqm Occupancy: Max 4 Adults + 2 children The Deluxe Jasmine Garden Family Villas feature two bedrooms and a specious living room, ideal for families and groups. Each villa sits on the beachfront on the lagoon side of the island and has its own exclusive 53 square meter infinity swimming pool Other features in the villa include; open-air terrace overlooking the pool and the beach, a walk-in closet, en-suite indoor/outdoor bathroom with a ‘two-person’ handcrafted bathtub in each room and a lounge area with an en-suite guest toilet and shower.
7 Villas- 705 Sqm Occupancy: Max 2 Adults + 2 children The exotic Jasmine Garden Villas are spread across the white sandy beach, with over 700 m2 of land. Each of the Jasmine Garden Villas has an exclusive 9.5 metre by 4 meters private Infinity Swimming Pool and garden area. The entrance to the Jasmine Garden Villas is through a Maldivian-style courtyard garden, leading to a spacious lounge overlooking the beautiful blue ocean.
2 Villas- 550 Sqm Occupancy: Max 2 Adults + 2 children Dhonakulhi with Lap Pool, a new edition to our villas, is a refurbished version of the Dhonakulhi Residences. It has an extended Lap pool of 55 square meters, overlooking the white sandy beach, a large living room, a separate spacious bed room with French windows facing the infinity pool, where you can relax all day sun bathing, while being served by your Private Butler.
18 Villas- 550sqm Occupancy: Max 2 Adults + 2 children Lapped by the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean, our Dhonakulhi Residences are scattered along the white sandy beach-front of the Island Hideaway. Each Residence, in a compound of over 550 square metres, has an open-plan living area with a timber deck outdoor seating. The French-windowed spacious bedroom overlooks the generously proportioned outdoor Jacuzzi Splash Pool. In addition to the indoor and outdoor bathroom with its ‘two-person’ hand-crafted bath, there is also an Open-air Alfresco Garden Dining Pavilion and Roof Terrace. The mandatory Maldivian Swing (Undholi) Pavilion completes the majestic Dhonakulhi Residence
7 retreat- 385 Sqm Occupancy: Max 2 Adults + 2 children The elegantly rustic Raamba Retreats with their open floor-level outdoor terraces and landscaped gardens offer the perfect seclusion for a peaceful retreat. They are dotted across the coastline on the beachfront. The Lounge and the Bedroom in the Raamba Retreats are generously spaced. The Bedroom has a walk-in closet area and en-suite Bathroom with indoor and outdoor bathing facilities and a Jacuzzi bathtub.
7 Pavilion- 176 Sqm Occupancy: Max 2 Adults + 2 children The Funa Pavilions on the beachfront with their chalk-white walls promise peace and privacy in a living area covering 176 square metres. Characterized by their own garden, a separate sleeping and living area with teak flooring, open-air bathroom and a wooden patio area facing the beach with two thickly cushioned teak sun-beds, these Villas offer luxury over and above the call of duty. Matheefaru restaurant offers international cuisine with a refined french touch with weekly themed buffets at night along with live cooking stations and a la carte menu options set over two private breathtaking pavilions over the water.
Those wanting to while away the evening to exotic drinks and snacks will find the Meeru Bar the perfect place. Our Meeru Bar, situated on the beach, has a unique design – in that the roof structure is like the inside of a boat’s hull and the deck area extends over water giving fantastic sunset views. Meeru Bar also features a Grill Station and Salad Bar in the evenings, where you can select your favorite seafood or meat to be cooked live to your choice of perfection. You will find a wide selection of pizzas and other fresh snacks from the a la carte menu of the Meeru Grill. Connoisseurs will be thrilled to know that we have the largest whiskey and finest champagne collection in the Maldives.

The sun, sand and sea motif lingers throughout the Hideaway Spa with internal waterways and water walls, open areas and sandy floors. In addition to the 750 cubic metre Infinity Swimming Pool facing the Indian Ocean, 32 metres in length and22 metres in width, with attached Jacuzzi and children’s pool as well as poolside service, The Island Hideaway has also made sure that all other forms of water sports are catered for – from speedboat trips to catamaran sailing, water skiing, snorkelling, windsurfing, canoeingand wakeboarding. resort is good for couple and honeymooners that they want a privacy, its a beautiful and big resort, good for snorkeling many things to do to resort, staff is very friendly and hospitality,

very beautiful ocean in this place, good service, comfortable and nice rooms, very private villa, but near the several villas corals too close to the beach and to swim need to go to another beach

My lovely resort. I like so much. Very fantastic reef, still very comfortable rooms with big place. Atmosphere on the island like you are happy and always smile because u are enjoying everything.
