ONEVIOLIN SET TO PERFORM IN SUN SIYAM OLHUVELI
Finland’s Got Talent 2020 runner-up Pekka Niemi will be performing live at Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives from 22nd – 29th November.
His stage name ONEVIOLIN needs no introduction in music scenes, famous for his covers of global hits, producing countless sounds, from the melody to drums, with just a single Violin.

NIYAMA PRIVATE ISLANDS MALDIVES HOSTS SURF WEEK 2021 WITH PROFESSIONAL SURFER, SHAPER AND PHOTOGRAPHER
Niyama Private Islands is launching its 2021 Surf Week from 1 to 7 November, hosting Josh Kerr and Matt Parker, two big names in the world of surf, and with a full programme of surfing and socialising for participants.
Josh Kerr, former Australian pro surfer and two-time world surf air show champion, will be sharing his expertise during daily surf clinics as well as one-to-one surfing coaching sessions. Josh has also been Todo Santos Big Wave Champion and a ten times top ten finisher in the WSL championship tour.
Matt Parker of Album Surfboards will be analysing guests’ surfing styles and producing a tailormade board for each participant. Matt was the 2021 Electric Acid Surfboard test winner with surfer Coco Ho and has been shaping one of a kind, innovative surfboards since 2001.
In addition renowned professional surf photographer, Erick Proost, currently, resident at Niyama, will be there to capture action images of the guests riding the waves.
Niyama is the only luxury resort in the Maldives with its own wave breaking onto the shore – Vodi – which is a powerful and sometimes hollow left-hander. Off to the west and five minutes away by speedboat, Kasabu is a rippable and hollow right-hander. There are also a number of other surf spots in and around the Dhaalu Atoll that can be easily reached from Niyama by speedboat or seaplane.
NEW RESIDENTS OF AMILLA MALDIVES
Amilla is thrilled to announce Kirk and Keeley Haworth of Plates London will be in residence from 15th to 25th November to offer guests a Plant-Based Paradise of food. Kirk, the son of Nigel Haworth (of the Michelin-starred The Northcote), has undergone a personal journey for health, converting to a plant-based diet.
GILI GOES PINK OCTOBER
Gili Lankanfushi Maldives welcomes the participation of both guests and hosts, to raise awareness about breast cancer. As it is the second leading cause of cancer death in women and early detection can save a life.
In support of the cause, the pink mask will be worn by all female hosts and a pink ribbon will be worn by all hosts throughout the month. Pink ribbons are provided in the Gili Cares Kit found in your villa upon check-in, as an opportunity for guests to be a part of the movement.
On Wednesdays, the Gili Family invites all attendees of the weekly management cocktail party to come with a dash of pink in their outfits for the occasion. Be sure to pack in something pink for your holiday! During this weekly event, guests will be invited to leave motivational notes to those who are diagnosed with breast cancer. The collection of these notes will be distributed to breast cancer patients around the world through various organisations, as moral support to those who survived or fighting the disease.
‘Splash for a Cause’ is the highlight of the month! A best dressed FUN-draiser, for the young at heart. An event where the resort invites guests to make a splash into the sparkling turquoise lagoon in their quirkiest outfit on 23rd October 2021. Prizes to be won and photos of the jump will be given as a token of appreciation. Time to put on your best dress! Donation of any amount is encouraged for the registration of this event. All donations will go to the Cancer Society of Maldives.
