At Lets Go Maldives, we closely follow the developments shaping the country’s luxury hospitality landscape. One of the latest updates comes from Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, an adults-only island retreat in South Malé Atoll, which has recently appointed David Caille as Resort Manager.
David is a familiar name within the region’s high-end hospitality sector. With more than a decade of operational experience in both Thailand and the Maldives, his background reflects a balance of hands-on leadership and a deep understanding of guest-focused service. His previous roles include key operational positions at several notable luxury properties, most recently at Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, where he helped refine the resort’s personalised villa hosting concept and curated dining and wellness programs.
Earlier in 2025, David spent time at Naladhu Private Island Maldives as taskforce Resort Manager. His leadership played an important role in maintaining the island’s signature sense of privacy, exclusivity and bespoke service-qualities that define the Naladhu experience.
Before joining Anantara Hotels, David served as Hotel Manager at Layana Resort & Spa in Thailand, guiding the property to the top of TripAdvisor’s rankings and solidifying its position among Thailand’s most recognised luxury boutique resorts.
A graduate of École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and originally from Switzerland, David brings a multilingual background and a warm, people-first style of leadership. He reports that what continues to inspire him is hospitality built on genuine human connection-creating places where guests feel naturally at ease, welcomed, and engaged.
At Anantara Veli, David will oversee the full scope of operational areas on the island. Known for its calm lagoon setting and focus on mindful living, the resort offers overwater and beachfront villas designed with open spaces, natural materials and a refined approach to Maldivian island living. The dining programme highlights contemporary cuisine and tailored experiences, while a holistic wellness philosophy draws from Ayurvedic influences and restorative therapies.
Jason Kruse, Complex General Manager for Anantara Maldives, noted that David’s arrival brings both expertise and fresh perspective to the property, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to personal service and a relaxed, elegant atmosphere.
At Lets Go Maldives, we look forward to seeing how David’s leadership helps shape the next chapter of guest experience at Anantara Veli. For travellers seeking a serene adults-only sanctuary close to Malé-complete with private villas, curated dining and meaningful wellness-this resort continues to stand out as an exceptional choice.
