On 15 September 2026, COMO Maalifushi will host “COMO Conversation: The Wave is Hers”, welcoming Maldivian surfer Rishtha Shuja for an intimate discussion about her journey, inspirations and the growing surf culture of the Maldives. Created in collaboration with Tropicsurf, the exclusive experience will be available to in-house guests at Thila Bar Beach.
Celebrating a New Generation of Maldivian Surfers
Inspired by her late father, a respected Maldivian surfer, Rishtha began bodyboarding in 2019 before moving into competitive surfing in 2021. Since then, she has represented the Maldives at national and international events, including achieving third place at the 2024 Rannamaari Challenge.
Her conversation at COMO Maalifushi will offer guests a personal insight into the dedication behind her surfing career and the important role the ocean plays in Maldivian culture.
