Connecting With the Next Generation
Our Earth Day started just across the water on the nearby island of Kudarikilu. Our marine biologist, Nairika Bharucha, along with a few members of our team, visited the local school and were warmly welcomed by Acting Principal Mr. Ahem Firaag. More than 50 students gathered for a lively and inspiring session about ocean conservation, climate change, and how every small action can have a big impact.
The energy in the room was contagious, with thoughtful questions and genuine curiosity sparking real conversations. The visit wrapped up with a celebratory cake-cutting and a beach cleanup that brought together students, families, and our Milaidhoo team for a shared act of care and commitment.
Rooted in Purpose, Growing With Intention
Back on our island, guests joined us for a tree-planting ceremony, placing new life into the soil beneath the Maldivian sun. These trees are more than just greenery-they’re a lasting symbol of our connection to the land and our promise to protect it. Milaidhoo’s natural surroundings are home to birds, bats, geckos, and countless native species. Every step we take to preserve that habitat matters.
Later, our full team came together for a full island clean-up. It was more than just picking up litter-it was a chance to reflect, to reconnect, and to work side by side in service of something bigger than ourselves.
