We are thrilled to share some exciting news from our partners at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives! The resort has successfully completed the first phase of its enhancement project, bringing even more comfort, style, and sophistication to this award-winning island escape.
The V1 enhancement works, which began on 12 May 2025, are now officially complete. As part of this phase, 35 Horizon Water Villas have been beautifully upgraded – now featuring brand-new L-shaped private pools and elegant sunken seating areas that perfectly complement the breathtaking lagoon views. Guests can look forward to an enhanced sense of privacy and relaxation in these reimagined villas.
That’s not all – the resort’s signature Italian restaurant, Trio, has also reopened its doors with a fresh, modern look and expanded seating capacity. Whether guests are enjoying classic Italian favorites or indulging in new culinary creations, Trio promises an unforgettable dining experience right above the ocean.
Upcoming Enhancements
Continuing its dedication to creating exceptional guest experiences, the resort will undergo further upgrades from 05 October to 10 December 2025. During this period, the second overwater jetty – home to 40 water villas – will be temporarily closed for preventive maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
The resort’s signature French restaurant, Flavours, will also be closed during this time for an interior facelift. But guests won’t miss out on fine dining – Trio will feature an expanded à la carte menu including French specialties alongside its Italian dishes.

Here’s what travelers can expect:
- All affected bookings will be upgraded to Horizon Water Villa with Pool as an alternative category.
- Construction work will be limited to specific areas, keeping noise and visual impact to a minimum.
- Guests preferring an alternative stay can be relocated to Siyam World or Sun Siyam Iru Veli, subject to availability.
- Relocated guests will enjoy 20% discounts on spa treatments, F&B, water sports, and combined excursions (excluding diving and private excursions).
