The Fari Islands Festival has concluded its second edition following three days of art, culture, wellness, gastronomy, music and conservation across Patina Maldives, Fari Islands and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands from 13 to 15 August 2026.

Built around the philosophy “One Festival, Every Sense,” the 2026 edition brought together international artists, chefs, musicians, wellness practitioners, cultural voices and conservationists, creating a diverse programme that encouraged guests to experience the Maldives through creativity, discovery and connection.
Creativity Takes Centre Stage in the Fari Islands
One of the festival’s headline contributors was award-winning actor and humanitarian Rosamund Pike, who opened the event with a charity dinner supporting MAG (Mines Advisory Group).

Throughout the festival, Pike explored creativity, performance and identity through a solo address and guided meditation session in partnership with Lumenate. She also connected with Maldivian culture through a cooking class at Kandu, the newly launched restaurant at Patina Maldives.
Another major creative presence was internationally recognised designer Sean Wotherspoon, who led a collaborative art residency during the festival.
Working alongside festival guests, Wotherspoon created a large-scale sculpture inspired by the Maldives’ reef environment. Rather than remaining solely as a festival artwork, the completed piece will contribute to ongoing coral regeneration efforts in the Fari Islands lagoon, where it will continue to develop as marine life grows around it.
Wotherspoon also transformed the Fari Art Atelier into a festival pop-up featuring an exclusive Fari Islands merchandise collection and limited-edition pieces created for festival guests.
Wellness and Conservation Across the Islands
Wellness was another central part of the three-day programme, with experiences designed around movement, mindfulness and holistic wellbeing.
The Maldives’ running community iRunners joined the festival for a 5km Charity Island Run as part of the Protect the Reef campaign. The initiative raised USD 5,000, which was donated to Save the Beach to support marine and coastal conservation.
Wellness by Bamford also returned for the second edition, with sound healer Stephanie Waxberg and aromatherapist Louise Riby leading immersive sessions. Noble Panacea contributed experiences focused on longevity and holistic wellbeing.
The festival also welcomed National Geographic Explorer Malin Fezehai, giving guests opportunities to explore themes of observation, storytelling and the natural environment.
In collaboration with the Olive Ridley Project, several activities highlighted the Maldives’ marine ecosystems, biodiversity and ongoing conservation initiatives.
Music and Culinary Experiences
As evening arrived, the festival shifted towards music and entertainment, with French musician and creative artist Sébastien Tellier presenting a live piano performance.
Thai multidisciplinary artist NOTEP brought together music, nature and storytelling, while Dutch DJ and producer FS Green led the festival’s beachfront closing celebration.
Food and beverage experiences were equally important to the festival’s sensory concept.
Michelin-starred chef Samuel Lee, founder of Parisian neo-bistrot SENsation, joined Tokyo-born dining collective WAGYUMAFIA for a series of culinary experiences. Cocktail-focused programming included Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, ranked No. 5 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, alongside Michter’s Whiskey and curated spirits sessions led by Sei Bellissimi’s Danilo Pozone.
Together, the programme created a combination of culinary discovery, international talent and Maldivian island surroundings.
Fari Islands Festival to Return in 2027
With its second edition now concluded, the Fari Islands Festival continues to develop as an annual gathering that brings together creativity, culture, wellness, gastronomy and conservation in the Maldives.
The 2026 programme demonstrated how a luxury island destination can extend beyond traditional beach experiences by creating opportunities for guests to engage with art, global cultural voices, wellness and environmental initiatives.
Following the conclusion of the 2026 edition, Fari Islands Festival is set to return in 2027, bringing another programme of artists, chefs, performers, thinkers and cultural contributors to Fari Islands.
