The Fari Islands Festival 2026 is set to return from 13 to 15 August 2026, bringing three days of art, wellness, gastronomy, music and nature to the Maldives.
Following its successful debut, the second edition brings together Patina Maldives, Fari Islands and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, creating a vibrant festival experience across two resorts and the wider Fari Islands destination.
This year’s programme welcomes an exceptional international line-up, including festival headliner Rosamund Pike, designer and cultural tastemaker Sean Wotherspoon, endurance icon Milind Soman, Dutch DJ and producer FS Green, and a visiting National Geographic Explorer.
A Festival Built Around Connection
The Fari Islands Festival is designed around the natural rhythm of island life, taking guests from sunrise rituals and ocean experiences to creative workshops, thought-provoking conversations, communal gatherings and performances beneath the stars.
Across three days, the festival explores the connections between people, creativity, wellness, food and the natural world, offering guests opportunities to engage with artists, chefs, designers, athletes and cultural voices from around the world.
Sean Wotherspoon Brings Art to the Islands
One of the festival’s creative highlights will be a collaborative art residency led by globally recognised designer Sean Wotherspoon.
Known for collaborations with brands including Nike, Adidas, Porsche and Gap, Wotherspoon will bring his distinctive and sustainability-focused aesthetic to Fari Islands.
At the heart of his residency will be a large-scale, reef-inspired sculpture, created collectively throughout the festival. Guests will have the opportunity to contribute to the artwork under Wotherspoon’s direction.
Once completed, the sculpture will be placed in the Fari Islands lagoon as part of ongoing coral regeneration efforts, allowing the installation to evolve naturally as marine life takes hold.
Wotherspoon will also take over the Fari Artist Atelier, presenting an exclusive Fari Islands merchandise collection alongside limited-edition pieces created especially for festival guests.
Milind Soman Leads a Charity Island Run
Wellness and endurance take centre stage with the arrival of Milind Soman, a former national swimming champion and one of India’s best-known endurance personalities.
On 13 August, Soman will collaborate with iRunners, the Maldives’ leading running community, to host a morning 5km and 10km Charity Island Run.
The event connects with iRunners’ flagship Maldives Half Marathon and its ongoing Protect the Reef campaign. In 2026, proceeds will support a coral restoration project in Villingili, linking the festival’s wellness programme with the protection of the Maldives’ marine environment.
The initiative reflects a wider theme running throughout the festival: celebrating the natural beauty of the Maldives while contributing to its long-term preservation.
Music Beneath the Maldivian Stars
The 2026 music programme brings together an eclectic international line-up, with FS Green joining Sébastien Tellier and NOTEP.
The internationally acclaimed Dutch DJ and producer, known for his roots in hip-hop and his ability to move across electronic music, Afrobeats, dancehall and house, will headline the festival’s final evening with a special beachfront performance.
FS Green’s production credits include collaborations with artists such as Mahalia, Blanco, Sevdaliza and Major Lazer.
Thai multidisciplinary artist NOTEP will also bring an immersive performance combining music, nature and storytelling, creating an experience designed around reflection and connection.
Discovering the Natural World
Nature and conservation remain central to the Fari Islands Festival.
A visiting National Geographic Explorer will join the programme, offering guests a closer look at the natural world through observation, storytelling and conservation.
In collaboration with the Olive Ridley Project, festival experiences will explore the Maldives’ remarkable marine ecosystems, biodiversity and ongoing conservation initiatives.
These experiences provide an opportunity for guests to look beyond the traditional island escape and gain a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems surrounding Fari Islands.
A Festival of Gastronomy and Wellness
The culinary programme brings together an equally impressive collection of international talent.
Michelin-starred chef Samuel Lee, from Parisian neo-bistrot SENsation, will join Tokyo’s WAGYUMAFIA for distinctive dining experiences, while Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, ranked No. 5 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list, will collaborate with Michter’s Whiskey on narrative-led cocktail experiences.
Guests can also discover curated spirits sessions led by Sei Bellissimi’s Danilo Pozone.
Wellness by Bamford returns for a second year as the festival’s wellness partner. Sound healer Stephanie Waxberg and aromatherapist Louise Riby will lead immersive wellbeing experiences, while Noble Panacea will host sessions focused on longevity and holistic wellbeing.
Together, the programme creates a festival experience that extends beyond entertainment, inviting guests to discover new ideas, connect with inspiring people and engage more deeply with the destination.
