Music, culture, and creativity came together once again at Hard Rock Cafe Maldives as the venue successfully hosted its second annual music festival in collaboration with Alliance Française de Malé.
Held on 19 June, the vibrant event brought together local and international artists for an unforgettable evening of live performances, cultural exchange, and energetic entertainment. Following the success of the first edition, this year’s festival continued to strengthen the connection between Maldivian and international music communities.
The festival featured a diverse lineup of talented performers, creating a dynamic fusion of sounds and styles that entertained guests throughout the night. The artists included:
- Equatic Vibe (Maldives) — full band
- SkyRock (Maldives) — full band
- Funk Island (Sri Lanka) — international highlight band
- Dr. Tatsuya Daniel (USA) — solo keyboard artist
- Katherine (Sri Lanka) — solo expat keyboard artist
The collaboration between Hard Rock Cafe Maldives and Alliance Française de Malé provided a platform where local musicians could share the stage with international performers, encouraging artistic connection and celebrating the universal language of music.
This year’s festival was further supported through cultural partnerships, with Funk Island sponsored by the French Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, while Dr. Tatsuya Daniel was supported by the United States Embassy in the Maldives. These collaborations highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and international cooperation through the arts.
Inspired by the spirit of La Fête de la Musique (World Music Day), the festival reflects the global movement that celebrates music as a way to bring people together. Originally created in France in 1982, World Music Day has grown into an international celebration where musicians of all backgrounds share their creativity with audiences worldwide.

Guests enjoyed an immersive live music experience featuring multiple genres and performances, creating the signature energetic atmosphere that Hard Rock is known for. The combination of local talent, international artists, and a lively waterfront setting made the festival one of the standout cultural events in Malé’s annual calendar.
