It is with great pleasure that Soneva Fushi team can finally tell you about a very special event that will be taking place at the resort from May 13-22, 2022: JLF Soneva Fushi, also known as “the greatest literature festival on earth”.
For the first time ever, the resort has partnered with Teamwork Arts, producer of JLF (Jaipur Literature Festival) to bring this iconic Festival to the Maldives for a celebration of books, creativity, culture and diversity. Known for its pervasive sense of inclusiveness and camaraderie, JLF Soneva Fushi will bring together some of the world’s most acclaimed writers, thinkers and entertainers to champion the freedom to express and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue.
Taking place over ten days and showcasing 30 authors, the Festival is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people and take part in riveting conversations, all against the idyllic backdrop of Soneva Fushi.
The list of eminent speakers includes Italian-American writer, André Aciman; Festival Co-director and award-winning eminent author Namita Gokhale; celebrated author of the bestselling The Silk Roads: A New History of the World, The First Crusade: The Call from the East and The New Silk Roads, Peter Frankopan; author, politician and former international civil servant, Dr Shashi Tharoor; Indian columnist and novelist, Shobhaa De; and Festival Co-director, historian and celebrated author, William Dalrymple.
A celebration of life, JLF Soneva Fushi will feature two weekends of unique sessions and events and five days of workshops, all of which will be fully accessible to guests staying at the resort and streamed to literature enthusiasts across the world – from poetry cruises, to cocktail parties on the sandbank and exclusive film screenings.
To mark the launch of JLF Soneva Fushi, the resort has curated an exclusive guest offer. The offer includes accommodation, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner at selected restaurants, return seaplane transfers between Malé and Soneva Fushi, full access to Festival events, and complimentary inclusions for children.
