Kuramathi Maldives has recently appointed Bert Goebel as its new General Manager, bringing nearly 30 years of extensive experience in high-end hospitality. Bert’s career, which began as a chef in 1989, has seen him take on prestigious roles in hotels, resorts, and cruise lines worldwide.
Bert holds an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism and a Master’s Degree in Culinary Arts from the Steigenberger Hotel School in Germany. His international experience includes key positions such as Vice President of Global Hotel Operations at Scenic Group in Zurich, General Manager at Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean, and Director/General Manager at Oceania Cruise Lines in Miami. He has also served as Cluster General Manager in the Maldives, providing him with a unique understanding of the region’s hospitality landscape.
In his new role, Bert is focused on enhancing the guest experience at Kuramathi Maldives. He aims to foster a culture of genuine care and connection, ensuring that every interaction reflects the warmth and hospitality that the resort is known for. Bert is also committed to sustainable growth and innovation, with a strong emphasis on preserving the resort’s natural environment and cultural heritage.
Outside of work, Bert is passionate about traveling, exploring new cultures, and culinary experiences. His hobbies include swimming, biking, scuba diving, running, and spending time with his family. His interest in modern architecture and contemporary design further reflects his dynamic personality.
