At the beginning of the summer, our colleague Irina visited Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi. And she kindly shared with us her impressions of the resort.
В начале лета наша коллега Ирина посетила Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi. И она любезно поделилась своими впечатлениями о резорте с нами.
The first thing that catches your eye upon arrival is, of course, a large, if not even a huge, natural island. There is a lot of lush greenery growing on it. And sometimes, while strolling around the hotel, it may even seem that you are in the jungle.
Первое что бросается в глаза по прибытию это конечно большой, если даже не огромный, натуральный остров, на котором растет много пышной зелени. Порой во время прогулок может даже показаться, что ты находишься в джунглях.
The hotel is particularly proud of its 9-kilometre house reef. The distance to the reef from the beach is 10-15 meters. Its flora and fauna have preserved the original beauty with all the variety of rare species. There you can meet different kinds of coral fishes, reef sharks, eagle rays, manta rays or even one of 10 turtles who live permanently on the island.
Отдельная гордость резорта – домашний риф, простирающийся на 9 км. Расстояние до рифа от пляжа составляет всего 10-15 метров. Его флора и фауна сохранили первозданную красоту со всем многообразием редких видов. Там вы можете увидеть ярких коралловых рыбок, рифовых акул, скатов, мант или даже познакомиться с одной из 10 черепах, которые постоянно проживают на острове.
According to Irina: “the beach is exactly what you need“. Not too broad or too narrow. The lush vegetation provides comfortable natural shade on the beach. As for the entrance to the ocean, you need to take into account that on the eastern side of the island, from the side of the coral reef, waves bring coral chips to the beach, so you need to be careful. Yet on the western side, the entrance to the sea is comfortable, the sand is gentle, and the depth increases gradually. Perfect for kids.
Со слов Ирины пляж “то что нужно”! Он не слишком широкий и не слишком узкий. Благодаря пышной растительности, на пляже есть комфортная естественная тень. Что же касается входа в океан, то нужно иметь в виду, что на восточной стороне острова, со стороны кораллового рифа, волны намывают коралловую крошку и нужно быть аккуратными. Зато с западной стороны вход в лагуну очень приятный, песок нежный, глубина увеличивается постепенно. Идеальное место для купания детишек.
Another highlight of the resort is the Coralarium. It is a cube-shaped structure located in the ocean, close to the main beach. It was built for a coral restoration and marine life regeneration project but also serves as an art installation. It is definitely worth checking out.
Есть в резорте еще одна изюминка – Коралариум. Это конструкция в форме куба, расположенная в океане, недалеко от главного пляжа, которая представляет собой одновременно и коралловую ферму и арт инсталляцию. Туда интересно сплавать просто из праздного любопытства или для того, чтобы сделать уникальные фотографии.
Of course, we should talk about accommodation. The villas are spacious (from 360 sqm and above). In each villa, in addition to the usual amenities, guests will find a decorative handmade rug, which adds a special cosiness to the atmosphere, a yoga mat, and even snorkelling equipment (if you ask in advance). It was a pleasant surprise to find in local cosmetics set sunburn remedies. Every villa has its own private pool (from 14 sqm and above), which is cleaned every day.
Конечно, мы должны поговорить и о номерах. Виллы на острове, просторные (от 360 кв. м). В каждой вилле, помимо привычного наполнения, гости найдут декоративный коврик ручной работы, создающий особый уют, коврик для йоги, а если вы укажите в пожеланиях перед заездом, то по прибытии в номере вас уже будет ожидать снаряжение для снорклинга. Приятно удивило наличие средства от солнечных ожогов в косметическом наборе. У каждого номера есть свой большой частный бассейн (от 14 кв.м), который исправно чистят каждый день.
In addition to the classic Beach and Water Villa, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi offers guests a unique room category – Tented Jungle Villas. The villas are located in the centre of the island and don’t have access to the beach. However, they compensate for this with a large territory around the villa, a private swimming pool, an open-air home cinema, a dining area suitable for picnics and barbecues and a bar where you can act as a bartender yourself or invite a professional one from the hotel crew. Guests of these villas can use the main beach.
Помимо классического размещения в Beach и Water Villa, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi предлагает уникальную категорию – Tented Jungle Villas. Виллы расположены в центре острова и у них нет выхода на пляж. Это компенсируется большой территорией вокруг виллы, частным бассейном, наличием домашнего кинотеатра под открытым небом, большой столовой зоной, подходящей для пикников и барбекю и барной стойкой, за которой можно выступить в роли бармена самому или же пригласить профессионала из команды отеля. Гости этих вилл могут пользоваться основным пляжем около главного бассейна.
Now let’s talk a little about the local cuisine. The food on the island is delicious. The main restaurant offers a new cousin every day. More than that, the main restaurant is a real paradise for those with a sweet tooth! There are barrels with 6 types of ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a separate table with sweets, Swiss chocolate and M&M’s, and during dinner, guests can taste the chocolate fountain.
А теперь поговорим немного о местной кухне. Кормят на острове очень вкусно. В основном ресторане каждый день меняется кухня. Кроме того главный ресторан это настоящий рай для сладкоежек! Здесь на завтрак, обед и ужин стоят бочки с 6 видами мороженного, есть отдельный столик с конфетами, швейцарским шоколадом и m&ms, а во время ужина гости могут полакомиться шоколадным фонтаном.
However, the crown jewel of Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi is its staff. If we say that it’s friendly and responsive, it will be an understatement. There is an atmosphere of either good company of friends or even happy family. The chefs, when time allows, come to chat with guests, share recipes of dishes that you liked, and Irina was even asked how to prepare authentic borscht. Butler always tells you at what time the master classes for children are held, and picks up and brings back the child. And it was so sweet when the director of the hotel, during the weekly cocktail party, volunteered to go with Irina’s daughter to the beach to look for crabs.
Однако, главной жемчужиной Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi является его персонал. Если мы скажем, что он дружелюбный и отзывчивый, это будет преуменьшение. Тут ощущается атмосфера хорошей компании друзей, или даже дружной семьи. Повара, когда позволяет время, выходят, чтобы поболтать, поделятся рецептами блюд, которые вам понравились. Ирину, например, даже расспросили о том, как же готовится настоящий борщ. Батлер расскажет, в какое время проходят мастер-классы для детей, заберет и привезет ребенка. А директор отеля, во время еженедельной коктейльной вечеринки, вызвался отправиться с дочкой Ирины на пляж, искать крабиков.
