Soneva has announced its latest Soneva Stars calendar, bringing an impressive line-up of astronauts, athletes, chefs, artists and wellness experts to its Maldives resorts.
Across Soneva Fushi, Soneva Jani and Soneva Secret, guests can meet and learn from specialists at the top of their fields. The programme covers space exploration, sports, gastronomy, craftsmanship and wellbeing.
Meet an Astronaut Under the Maldives’ Night Sky
One of the highlights of the programme is Tim Peake, the first British European Space Agency astronaut to visit the International Space Station.
From 19 to 29 December, Peake will be at Soneva Fushi for talks, interactive sessions and stargazing experiences.
Guests can hear about his career in space exploration while enjoying the Maldives’ clear night skies. The experience brings together science, storytelling and astronomy in a unique island setting.
Train with International Sports Stars
Sports enthusiasts can also take part in special sessions with internationally recognised athletes.
Former Manchester United striker and Premier League record goalscorer Andy Cole will lead football sessions from 25 October to 1 November.
Tennis fans can join coaching sessions with former world No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis from 25 October to 5 November and current ATP player Karen Khachanov from 12 to 22 November.
In September, Olympic medallist and world champion decathlete Leo Neugebauer will lead a training session at the outdoor gym at Soneva Fushi.
These residencies give guests an opportunity to learn directly from athletes who have competed at the highest levels of their sports.
Wellness Experiences at Soneva Secret
Wellbeing is another major part of the Soneva Stars programme.
Facialist Sarah Chapman will bring her expertise to Soneva Secret from 27 October to 5 November.
Guests can experience personalised treatments as part of the resort’s wider approach to wellness.
Other specialists joining the programme include osteopath Hortensia Corredoira, East Asian healing specialist Alexander Scrimgeour, performance coach JP Liendi, Bodyism’s Nathalie Schyllert and wellbeing expert Richie Norton.
A Culinary Journey Across the Maldives
The Soneva Stars calendar also offers a diverse culinary programme.
Acclaimed chef Chantelle Nicholson will be at Soneva from 22 October to 6 November, showcasing her ingredient-led approach and focus on sustainable gastronomy.
Scandinavian dining will also feature through experiences with Niclas Jönsson from 22 October to 6 November and Jamie Lee of Fiskebar from 14 to 26 December.
The culinary residencies give guests opportunities to discover new flavours and cooking philosophies while enjoying the relaxed surroundings of Soneva’s island resorts.
Discover Art, Astronomy and New Skills
Soneva Stars goes beyond food, sports and wellness.
Astronomers Dr James Gilbert and Dr Lars Lindberg Christensen will contribute to the resorts’ celestial experiences.
At Soneva Fushi’s glass studio, artists Adam Holtzinger and Susan Špiranović will lead a special glassmaking residency.
Guests can also meet football freestyler Marcel Gurk as part of the programme running through the end of the year.
