After more than 20 years, one of the Maldives’ most iconic dining venues is starting a brand-new chapter. Bandos Maldives has officially reopened The Gallery Restaurant, unveiling a beautifully redesigned space that brings new energy to the heart of the island.
Originally built in 2004, The Gallery has been a favourite among guests for decades. On June 1st, 2025, it reopened its doors following its first major renovation-a thoughtful transformation that blends modern design with the warm, familiar spirit Bandos is known for.
A Fresh Take on a Classic Favourite
The renovation was led by local firm Hannaan Architects, with interiors by AIDIZ Interior Design. Together, they’ve created something that feels both contemporary and timeless. The space is now more open and inviting, with clean lines, natural textures, and soft lighting that gives it an airy, relaxed atmosphere.
While the look may be new, the feeling hasn’t changed. It’s still the same spot where guests gather for laid-back breakfasts, long lunches, and memorable dinners-only now with a little extra style and comfort.
Respecting the Past, Looking to the Future
Bandos has a long history in the Maldives. As one of the country’s very first resorts, it’s a place that’s always stayed close to its roots while continuing to evolve. The updated Gallery Restaurant reflects that balance. It honours the past, but it’s very much built for today.
