Vakkaru Maldives has introduced a new overwater accommodation category, offering guests an elevated way to experience the beauty and privacy of the Baa Atoll.
The award-winning private island resort, located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, has launched its new Overwater Villa with Pool, now available to book for stays from 22 October 2026 onwards.
A New Level of Overwater Luxury
The new Overwater Villa with Pool combines the spacious design and direct lagoon access associated with Vakkaru Maldives with the added privacy of a private swimming pool suspended above the Indian Ocean.
Each villa spans 165 sqm, complemented by a 23 sqm private pool. Designed as an intimate sanctuary above the lagoon, the villas provide generous outdoor space, uninterrupted ocean views and direct access to the surrounding waters.
The new category comprises the odd-numbered villas 211 to 245, forming part of Vakkaru’s carefully curated collection of overwater accommodation.
Private Pools Above the Lagoon
For travelers who value privacy and outdoor living, the new Overwater Villa with Pool offers the opportunity to enjoy the Maldives from a private setting above the water.
Guests can spend the day swimming in their private pool, relaxing on the outdoor space or stepping directly into the lagoon for an ocean experience just outside their villa.
The new category complements Vakkaru Maldives’ existing Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa, giving guests and travel advisors another option when selecting the ideal accommodation for a luxury Maldives holiday.
A Name Change to the Existing Pool Villa Category
Alongside the launch, Vakkaru Maldives will rename its existing Overwater Pool Villa category to Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa.
The change is purely a name update. There are no changes to the villa’s features, inventory or rates, allowing the new naming structure to create a clearer distinction between the resort’s overwater pool villa categories.
Booking and Stay Details
The new Overwater Villa with Pool is available to book now for stays beginning 22 October 2026.
Introductory 2026 rates start from:
- Low Season: From US$1,650 per night
- Shoulder Season: From US$1,950 per night
- Festive Season: From US$4,500 per night
The introductory rates are combinable with current seasonal offers, providing travel partners with additional flexibility when creating Maldives packages for their clients.
