The Maldives is ranked as one of the top 5 best dolphin watching spots found on earth. Dolphins roam around for almost the entire year, but for a more treasured experience, you should opt for the best time and place.
The best time in the Maldives is the dry season, particularly between January and April as dolphins like to show up when the weather is nice. As to the best location, there is Laamu Atoll, to be more precise—the Muli Channel. Laamu is not especially famous probably owing to the small number of resorts found here—only two. However, in terms of dolphins, this area seems to be the most abundant. They are also said to be the most frequently seen in the morning between 7:00 and 9:00 am and in the afternoon between 4:30 and 6:30 pm.
So take this into consideration while planning your safari! And a final useful tip—don’t spare the applause they like it and might even do some stunts for you when you encourage them a little; being the center of attention is in their nature!
