Velaa Private Romantic Residence – Velaa Private Island é a realização de um sonho para criar um refúgio boutique ultra-exclusivo “além do luxo”. Este destino único foi desenvolvido para encarnar o melhor deste arquipélago único, banhado por céus azuis nas águas aquáticas do Oceano Índico. O nome deste retiro privado, uma elegante fusão da cultura das Maldivas com o luxo contemporâneo, significa “Ilha das Tartarugas” na língua local – em homenagem a gerações de tartarugas marinhas que afluíram para aqui nidificar e eclodir.
O design do resort toma emprestado deste tema, com motivos de tartaruga, e as cores e padrões de casco de tartaruga que permeiam a propriedade. A partir de uma “vista panorâmica” mais ampla, que saúda as chegadas de hidroavião, as villas exclusivas sobre a água da ilha também são construídas para se assemelhar à cabeça de uma tartaruga, com a ilha formando o corpo. Velaa Private Island também garante muito espaço para seus visitantes marinhos, com um incubatório e plano de conservação em vigor. Velaa Private Island tem pouco menos de 20 hectares de tamanho, cerca de meio quilômetro em ambos os sentidos,
proporcionando exclusividade e privacidade.

Accessible only by boat, this ultra-private one-bedroom villa suspended above the lagoon with uninterrupted views of the ocean offers utmost privacy and romance, making it perfect for honeymooners or those who looking for ultra-luxury, including a private chef and butler. All rooms open onto the terraces, where the Jacuzzi, pool, sundeck and sunken bath offer varying aspects on the horizon. Dine inside at sunset, or over the water in a dining gazebo on its own jetty, or enjoy sundowners on the sumptuous daybeds. Interiors are designed with natural materials and neutral colours with occasional accents of Ikat or animal prints. With a personal gym and spa treatment rooms inside the residence there’s little reason to leave.

With three restaurants and two bars and a wine cellar, a generous selection of locations and cuisines are available for guests.
ARAAGU AND CRU Velaa Private Island’s signature restaurant, Aragu serves innovative cuisine in an elegant setting over water; here guests can enjoy vintage champagne at the lounge Cru followed by fine dining. Aragu means ‘essence’ and the concept of this signature restaurant is offering guests two distinct styles of enjoying one dish –a ‘simplistic’ option focusing on the clear taste of individual elements and simple combinations, or a ‘sensational’ option whereby elements are combined to create exciting and harmonious fusions of ingredients.
Velaa Private Island would like to remind its dear guest to adhere to a recognized dress code at the Aragu Restaurant and Cru Champagne Lounge. The dress code includes smart formal and casual wear that is in accordance to the ambience of the venue. We encourage our guests to dress impressively to enhance their dining experience and make it more memorable. The following examples may help our guests decide on their dinning attire. Gents are recommended to wear for example, long or short sleeved collared shirts and trousers, sandals or cultural clothing. Ladies may wear evening dresses, long or short sleeved collared shirts, sandals, black or white jeans or cultural clothing.
TAVARU houses a Teppanyaki kitchen and makes up the cecentrepiece of the island: a visually striking tower where live cooking and Velaa’s extensive wine cellar take centre stage. The 30 page wine list is paradise for true oenophiles, covering the whole spectrum from boutique wineries to grand marques and organic and biodynamic producers. Guests can choose from rare gems
such as a 1956 Domaine de la Romanée Conti “Romanée Conti”; a rare vintage Salon Champagne, or two centuries old fortified wine
1870 Blandy “Verdelho Solera” among countless other Bordeaux wines.
ATHIRI AND AVI -Athiri is beachfront all-day dining at its finest, where guests can enjoy a feast of creative cuisine served fresh to their tables or prepared to their request. A wood-fired oven means hot freshly made pizzas, signature of Athiri, are served throughout the day. Avi is a casual pool bar by day and a vibrant cocktail bar by night, complete with mixologist and live DJ against the backdrop of spectacular ocean views.
