Royal Island Resort is a natural island of the medium size with paved paths, everywhere on the island. There are no much lush vegetations, but there are many big banyan trees which make this island unique. There is also a piece of the history on the island with an old water pond which local people were using many years ago as a natural bath filled with rain water. Resort is located in Baa Atoll and it is also not far from Hanifaru Bay, where guests can swim with mantas. There is a cute parrot living on the island at the water sport center his name is Rio. The atmosphere makes you feel like at home.
There are only beach villas on the island. Rooms are small and old fashioned, but all are stand alone, very well maintained and look decent. House reef is very close to the island. The lagoon is very narrow. As the house reef is so closed it is convenient for the beginner to try snorkelling and water sports. There is a sandbank nearby available for the excursions.
There is no kids club. But the island is full of families with children, so it seems family really like it. Spa is decorated with water ponds and waterfalls. Ayurvedic treatments are available. Overall the resort is a good value for money guests pay for it. It is simple but the team of the hotel is trying to give the best out of the budget.

The island is compact, green and very pleasant. You will find everything you need there – evening programs, sports entertainment, water activities. There is a house reef – very convenient – you do not need to use a yacht into the ocean to see the fish. The rooms are quite new – everything you need is in the room. Territory is clean. The ocean and the beach are clean. The restaurants offer a large selection of food. The staff is very friendly and nice. The feeling in this hotel is like at home.

the hotel evokes conflicting emotions – on the one hand, a very beautiful natural island, a lagoon, lots of greenery, a luxurious beach, and on the other – a very strange choice of design for an island hotel, which is also hopelessly outdated (
As per the resort management it helps somehow to stop the beach erosion, dont really understand how it works 🙈
there is very fundamental sports equipment – a huge indoor gym, a squash and volleyball court, outdoor tennis courts, a well-equipped fitness room.
all this looks very solid and could probably be interesting for some sports groups.
the hotel has its own diving and water sports center, which offers a huge number of activities. of course, excursions to manta rays and snorkeling.
the main restaurant is also impressive sizes, offers a variety of food, there are vegan and gluten-free options, a good selection of fruits. but there is a feeling of a canteen
There are a lot of mosquitoes, despite regular treatment (2 times a day), including inside the villas, because there is almost no daylight there (
This hotel can probably be recommended to sports, active groups, because the hotel really has everything you need for this. But of course without expectations from the accommodation.
