Soneva Fushi Private Reserve

Soneva fushi Maldives – soneva fushi spa resort maldives

LOCATION
Soneva Fushi, the first “Robinson Crusoe” style hideaway in the Maldives, is set on the privately owned tropical island of Kunfunadhoo in Baa Atoll, the latest UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The resort can be reached by a scenic 30-minute sea plane flight direct from Male International airport or for guests scheduled on evening flights by domestic carrier flights via nearby Dharavandhoo airport.

CONCEPT
The island is 1,400 metres long and 400 metres wide, one of the largest islands in the Maldives. Apart from the crystal clear waters, white beaches and tropical climate, the island’s unusually rich vegetation offers a unique natural experience. Villas are scattered along the beach and tucked into the lush greenery, providing the ultimate privacy. Fringed by white sand beaches that shelve gently into the azure blue sea, the iconic Soneva Fushi looks like a Robinson Crusoe idyll, however the finest creature comforts are always at hand. Its remoteness is central to its charm, offering the ultimate in barefoot sophistication for which the oft borrowed expression “No News No Shoes”was coined. Welcome to a world where the natural reality of the destination unites with understated yet sophisticated luxurious experiences and style. This is Intelligent Luxury. Soneva Fushi’s down to earth feel is reflected in its guest’s casual dress code and its naturally-designed architecture.

Dining

Mihiree mitha

Mihiree mitha means “here it is”, and almost any dish you crave is here at our main restaurant, the culinary heart of the island.

Bountiful breakfasts includes eggs any way you like, two dozen imported cheeses, just baked goodies with homemade jams, fresh fruits too like luscious mango, papaya and passionfruit that also go into delectable smoothies.

Take cover from the equatorial sun at lunch under the shade of palm trees with the Indian Ocean a few metres away. Enjoy the freshest sushi and sashimi, organic salads, sizzling wood fire pizzas, grilled fish, authentic Indian breads and meats from the tandoor oven.

Find room for one of more than 60 homemade ice creams and sorbets, including unexpected flavours like honeycomb and rosemary, piña colada and chocolate-lemongrass.

So Spiritual
Our main bar has one of the best selections of freshly made cocktails, spirits and liqueurs in the Maldives. An oasis of calm for reading, playing a board game or relaxing after a spa treatment. It’s also a wi-fi hot spot if you really need to catch up with the outside world.

By the Beach

To the sound of waves rolling onto the nearby shore, you take your seat at the private candle lit table set into the sand and under the stars. Your ceviche, sashimi and sushi come straight from the sea that very same day.

Linger over our Japanese and Korean inspired tapas, sharing and tasting off each other’s plates.

Our creative seafood mains follow at a leisurely pace, incorporating top quality ingredients sourced in the Maldives and from our own gardens. For special occasions or simply an evening among friends, climb the wooden stairs up to our tree house nestled amongst the tropical branches for Japanese tapas, Soneva style.

In villa dining

From early morning until 2 a.m., your edible whim is our kitchen’s command.

Guests have been known to joke that our extensive in-villa dining menu is thicker than a telephone book (remember those?) but think of it as merely a reference guide to inspire your appetite’s desires.

Down to Earth

1280x771_down_to_earth
A mouthwatering Mediterranean menu in this newly-built restaurant brings a new dimension to Soneva Fushi cuisine. Menus have been designed for sharing.

Fresh in the Garden

You will traverse organic fruit and herb gardens and then climb broad winding stairs to a rope bridge that spans the banana plantation. Offers a daily changing menu of produce grown or fished from the local Baa Atoll. A 100% carbon neutral modern Maldivian menu.

Bar(a)bara-Bar

All day drinks and tapas snacks. This bar overlooks the vibrant reef on the west side of the island. It is simply a dream location for organic cocktails as the sun sets.

Destination dining
Design your dream menu with our European executive chef, select sips from our 7,000 bottle subterranean wine cellar and enjoy it all in romantic privacy wherever your imagination takes you across our jungle covered island, or we’ll deliver you by speedboat to our favourite sandbank.

The wine cellar

Rare Champagnes, grand cru clarets, vintage cognacs, organic and biodynamic wines are among the 7,000 notable bottles in our subterranean wine cellar, certainly one of the Maldives’ finest.

Before any dinner, our sommelier would be pleased to show you around the well stocked collection and guide your evening’s selection. Or join the wine tasting (nightly except Tuesday and Saturday).

Our sommelier leads the interactive discussion beginning with six wines tasted together with an assortment of amuse bouche and as the evening unfolds, the conversation among new friends flourishes.

Spa

Six Senses Spa

Central to the Six Senses Spa is a large reflecting pond and waterfalls, setting the tone for soul therapy. A refreshing menu of holistic and traditional treatments conducted by highly skilled therapists using all natural products compliments the Six Senses signature journeys in addition to Thai, Balinese and doctor-assisted Ayurvedic and nutritional programmes. Spa programmes are complimented by a complete gym, beachside treatment villas and a Yoga Pavilion for wellness therapies such as yoga and Tai Chi.
