Announcement of Brief Closure of Conrad Maldives Rangali Island from 15 May to 14 August 2014 for Essential Works
Greetings from Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
We are writing to inform you that our resort will close from 15 May to 14 August 2014 as part of our new team member island opening.
If you’ve recently visited our resort, you would have noticed the creation and construction of a third island, ‘Ranfinolhu’. This island is almost 1km from our resort and is connected to us by a bridge. In 2014 this will be the home to all of our team members and host our infrastructure and logistics. It will not be accessible to guests.
During the closure we will relocate most infrastructure from our main island to Ranfinolhu island. This includes our powerhouse, laundry, engineering and water desalination and treatment plants.
Most of our team members will move into their new accommodation on this island at the same time. Ranfinolhu will feature extensive recreational facilities for our team members and I’m confident that post completion we will feature one of the best – if not the best – accommodation and team member facilities in the country.
Back on Rangali Island guests will not notice many changes. During the closure we will demolish many of our old back-of-house buildings creating more natural space and gardens. Apart from a slight redesign of walkways and paths around the island, we will add two new tennis courts for guest use. We are also working on the possibility of adding one more restaurant.
Other than that, during this period we’re also looking to upgrade many of our villa categories and restaurants by way of soft furnishing, improvements and touch ups.
When we reopen the resort on 15th August we will be fully operational in all areas of the resort.
We are excited about next year’s project and we are looking forward sharing with you a new and improved Conrad Rangali Island once completed.
